OPENDOEK

OPENDOEK wants to appreciate, facilitate and develop the practice and experience of amateur theatre in such a way that people can develop socially and artistically. OPENDOEK tries to reach everyone who practices the art of theatre in their spare time, whether they are active in a group or individually. Also directors and teachers who have affiliations with (amateur) theatre make appeal to OPENDOEK.

Members of OPENDOEK benefit from diverse services like

  • insurance
  • participation in courses
  • coaching on demand
  • usage of the library
  • participation in festivals and contests
  • honouring
  • magazine OP&doek

OPENDOEK also pays attention to other forms of theatre. Van Stoel tot Stoel focusses on storytelling, Plankton on youngsters while puppeteers find what they're looking for with Zwier. Besides supporting festivals, OPENDOEK also annually organizes two large scaled events. In the autumn, you can enjoy the best amateur theatre of last season at the famous Landjuweelfestival. In the summer you can get charmed by site specific theatre at Spots op West.

Members who are looking for improving their theatre skills can follow courses or ask OPENDOEK for course on demand, production coaching. At our theatre library they can find the appropriate text for their next play or ask for assistance in choosing the right text.

Membership costs €10 per person (€5 if you're under 26) and is valid from September 1st until August 31st. You can join OPENDOEK throughout the year.
